Position SummaryThe Regulatory Compliance Specialist is responsible
for ensuring that the organization's telecommunications operations,
projects, and grant related activities comply with all applicable
federal, state, and local regulations. The Regulatory Compliance
Specialist will assist the Director and Accounting team with
various reporting and compliance issues, including tracking
regulatory reporting requirements and maintaining the database for
Visionary's internal master regulatory schedule. This role involves
monitoring regulatory developments, maintaining compliance with
licensing and reporting requirements, and providing guidance to
internal teams on regulatory matters. The specialist will play a
key role in mitigating regulatory risks and ensuring that the
organization adheres to industry standards and all federal, state,
and local legal obligations. Key ResponsibilitiesRegulatory
Monitoring and InterpretationStay updated on federal, state, and
local telecommunications regulations, including those under the
FCC, USAC, and relevant State CommissionsInterpret regulatory
requirements and communicate implications to the Director and other
internal stakeholdersAdvise on the impact of new or changing
regulations and recommend compliance strategies to the
DirectorCompliance ManagementAssist in the implementation and
maintenance of compliance programs to ensure adherence to all
relevant regulationsMaintain the organization's compliance with
licensing, reporting, and certification requirements as it pertains
to federal, state, and local regulationsMonitor and audit
compliance activities, identifying any areas of non-compliance and
implementing corrective actionsPromote awareness of regulatory
compliance obligations across the organizationServe as a resource
for internal teams, providing guidance on regulatory issues and
best practicesDocumentation and ReportingPrepare and submit
required regulatory filings, reports, and documentation in a timely
manner to all relevant federal, state, and local authoritiesDraft
and review legal agreements to ensure compliance with
private/public utility requirements as well as local municipal
regulations for purposes of business operationsMaintain accurate
records of all compliance activities, including communications with
regulatory bodies and all relevant submissionsEnsure all regulatory
documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible for audits or
inspectionsRisk ManagementIdentify and assess regulatory risks
associated with telecommunications operations and associated
projectsWork with internal teams to develop risk mitigation
strategies and ensure ongoing complianceParticipate in internal and
external audits, providing necessary documentation and
responsesCollaboration and CommunicationCollaborate with legal,
technical, and operational teams to ensure integrated compliance
effortsCommunicate with regulatory agencies as necessary to seek
clarification, provide information, or address compliance
issuesRepresent the organization in industry forums or regulatory
meetings as required QualificationsEducation/ExperienceBachelor's
degree in business administration, legal studies, or a related
field is preferredPreferred 3-5 years of experience in regulatory
compliance, preferably within the telecommunications industry
Preferred understanding of federal, state, and local
telecommunications regulations, including FCC and relevant State
Commissions requirementsPreferred experience in maintaining
compliance programs, conducting audits, and preparing/submitting
regulatory filingsSkills & Attributes Excellent analytical and
problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex
regulations and apply them to business operationsStrong
communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to
convey regulatory requirements to non-technical paritiesHigh
attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to
manage multiple projects and deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft
Office SuiteEthical and professional, with a strong commitment to
regulatory compliance and integrityProactive and self-motivated,
with the ability to work independently and as part of a
teamAdaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic

LocationHybrid/RemoteOccasional travel to regulatory meetings,
